If your designs could speak, what would they say?

Our designs would tell stories of tradition and modernity, blending ancient techniques with contemporary style. They'd convey timeless elegance and the beauty of Indian craftsmanship. Each piece would reflect the passion and skill of its maker, connecting with wearers on a personal level. Our designs speak of authenticity, creativity, and the lasting appeal of handmade art.

What are the signature elements in your designs?

All designs are developed with the intention for every component to be handmade. From making hand-molded units in kilns to dying cotton yarn and then using hand-weaving techniques to create various designs. House of Tuhina strives to retain the innate nature of each raw material used to conceive designs. The products are unprecedented, and the styles seem effortless yet exude elegance.

Which celebrity or personality do you dream of dressing?

Sobhita Dhulipala,

Which collection are you most proud of, and why?

We are extremely proud of our Mirror Gold collection. It took us years to create the fine raw material with a mirror on one side and plain gold on the other. It is inspired by the age-old craft technique of India which was popular amongst the nomadic tribes. We have refined the craft and used it in a way that is universally loved.

Where do you find inspiration for your designs?

House of Tuhina draws inspiration from a myriad of sources, where beauty intertwines with everyday life. From the vibrant strokes of hand-painted road signs to the kaleidoscopic allure of street food carts, and from the regal charm of antique artworks to the opulence of gilded frames, every element speaks to the essence of beauty that fuels our creations.

Which designer in the world inspires you?

I have always been inspired by Coco Chanel because she was the one to create design from necessity. She gave comfort & style equal importance which led to her innovative trends.

Share a memorable "aha" moment from your design career.

In the beginning years of our journey, when our first women artisan group came to us with the news of them renovating their house and being able to make a separate floor for their family. It made us realize the difference we could make in people's lives and thus encouraged us to continue in our endeavors.
