While some parts of the country are making the lockdown rules more stringent, the others are unlocking in phases with full precautions and sanitation in place. The quarantine had us make a new routine and lifestyle adjustments according to the rules, with an inclusion of the work from home situation. Sure, we loved it at the beginning, the flexibility, working in PJs, all of it, but now we all need a change in scenery. As a new definition of monotony is taking over, we can really use a holiday. But can't get out of work commitments? Think of a workation, a perfect balance of work+vacation. Imagine your day with equal parts of work and leisure, and after logging off, you can actually relax in a whole new space.
We're grateful for this new (and safe) lifestyle change for even being an option, but does that mean you should lounge in your pajamas again? We don't think so either. We suggest you make the most of your semi-holiday by dressing the part. Check out these styles for your vacation wardrobe that is so billowy and comfortable, and not to mention extremely stylish, that will make it to your workation #OOTD.
Kaftans
The current 'It' thing for comfort dressing, a billowy kaftan is apt for both your cold mountain and balmy beach trip. Made famous by Kareena Kapoor Khan and several others, this stylish piece is the first thing you should pack for your workation. While accessorizing, keep it minimal with hoops or studs.
Tops
You can never go wrong with versatile tops. The fuss-free piece is not only comfortable but also is appropriate, if you're exploring the other parts of the country. Pair them with your good 'ol denim jeans or linen trousers for a failsafe look. In terms of accessorizing, in case you want to jazz it up, go for dainty chain earrings and a vintage watch.
Maxis
Maxi dresses are at par with kaftans to make for a hassle-free look. Being equal parts chic and peppy, one can actually consider their workation wardrobe that is replete with these stunning styles. Give a dash of ethnic to this contemporary number with oxidized jhumkas or kundan stud earrings, but make sure you keep them dainty and small.
Dresses
Can't do without short dresses? Neither can we. These easy-to-carry outfits are the MVP of many wardrobes if you don't mind the long and short of it (pun intended). Ideal for beach vacays, these casual numbers are serotonin-boosting and youthful. Style them with contemporary danglers and slide-ons to keep it casual.
Tunics
Want to dress a teeny bit conservatively? Resort to tunics. These styles are a perfect amalgamation of kurtis and dresses, making them an ideal choice of outfit if you don't feel like attracting unnecessary attention. They hit the right note with comfort too! Wear these pieces by themselves, or you can style them with trousers/ A-line palazzos. Team them up with kolhapuri sandals for a fusion look.
Shirt Dresses
Our new work favourite is a cross between shirts and dresses. They're fun, cool, and uber-stylish, and something you can fall back on in case of an emergency virtual meeting. Usually, they come with pockets, making them super functional, and which girl doesn't like pockets in her dresses? You can either dress or down with this style, depending on your taste, with dainty chain earrings and necklaces; or opt for chunky tribal-inspired chokers with slide-ons. Talk about versatility!
Skirt Sets
Nothing says romantic walk like an airy skirt set. They're feminine, twirly, and of course, extremely mood-lifting. Pick printed styles with bandeau tops or bishop sleeves and plan a date night with your beau just to wear these. Go for a chic bandana or a scrunchie and wear your favourite dainty pendant necklaces to complete the look.
