Coco Chanel once rightfully said, "Every day is a fashion show and the world is the runway". That is the case for most of us and getting ready for office is a huge part of our daily lives. It sets the tone of the day, gets our creative juices flowing, and reinforces the feel-good factor. But given the current scenario of COVID-19, we have resorted to working from home which comes with its own set of challenges. For one, dressing up for work and even WFH calls in our work wardrobe can be challenging because it is almost always followed by doing household chores in the same clothes. This makes us lean towards comfort clothing. And those who manage to dress up are practically running out of stylish clothes too? Are we right?
The key is in striking the correct balance between laid back and polished and getting creative with your pre-existing wardrobe. And if you find yourself in a quandary wondering how to go about achieving the said balance, then, here are some rather useful style tips from the OG stylist, Anaita Shroff Adajania, who took to a major beauty brand's Instagram and shared how to slay WFH in style with us. In the video she shows us how to use styling to re-invent our clothes and how to make even the comfy basics work appropriate.
Look 1
For the first WFH look Anaita suggests pairing a crisp oversized white shirt with your favourite skinny jeans. The white shirt looks formal enough and since it's oversized, it will provide you breathable comfort, too. To add some vibrancy to the look, she suggests ditching the black eyeliner for a green or a blue eyeliner.
Look 2
If athleisure is your vibe then this WFH look is for you. Anaita recommends pairing an oversized jumper with bicycle shorts for a youthful cool look. While the jumper will help you look effortlessly chic the trendy shorts will keep you relaxed enough to not want to reach out for the pyjamas. Plus, they will ensure you do all your chores with ease. And with a top knot hairstyle we guarantee that you will slay the video calls.
Look 3
This look is perfect for the days when you are not in the mood to dress up at all. Simply pairing your basic tee with wide legged pants will help you sail through the day. To brighten up the whole look she suggests adding a bright pop of colour on your lip with your favourite lipstick. According to Anaita, this will give your whole look an edge. We think so, too!
