With Netflix-and-chill being the only mantra that's keeping our sanity intact in these challenging times we can hardly blame you for staying up late every night. It's nice to enter into a fictional world of an alternative reality and escape the current one, isn't it? But the horror of waking up with a puffy face and eye bags is also real, very real.
Bags under your eyes just don't make for a great look. And while you can camouflage them with concealers, the puffiness will give it away. But if you're planning on continuing your night-time OTT channel safari and are you looking for a quick fix that doesn't involve expensive eye creams or eye patches, then count on these easy hacks to do their magic for your unwanted eye bags!
Cold Spoon Treatment
Although it may sound a bit absurd, we promise you that this hack really works. Cold temperatures soothe your under eyes and constrict the inflamed blood vessels reducing the puffiness. And when you add pressure with the spoon, in a gliding motion, it drains excess fluid build-up around the eyes. All you have to do is leave two spoons to chill in the freezer overnight and then place the spoons below your eyes and as close to the inner corners of your eyes as possible. Applying slight pressure while glide the spoon from the inner corner of your eye towards the outer corner. Within minutes you will see brightened eye levels.
Cucumber Slices
For years, beauty mavens have sworn by the humble cucumber as an effective under eye remedy. And with good reason, too. Cucumbers are one of the most hydrating veggies and lend some of their hydration properties to your under eyes, too. The antioxidant compounds present in cucumbers also help in brightening the under eye darkness. Although you can slice them and use them as it is we suggest placing them in the freezer for a couple of minutes to make it even more power-packed.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera is more like A-love-vera to us. It has more multi-tasking qualities than your smartphone, which makes this ingredient a keeper in the kitchen. The gel of the aloe vera plant is packed with vitamin E, amino acids, and anti-pigmentation properties. Not only will it help you get rid of the stubborn under eye bags but regular use of aloe vera on the face will add back the lost elasticity of your skin too. Cost-saving beauty treatment all in the house, ladies!
Rose Water
Gulab jal or rose water is an ancient Indian beauty go-to for tonnes of skin problems. For years, we have used it to get that enviable fresh glow and as a natural toner for the skin. Not only does it work for your dark circles too but the soothing properties of rose water will also relax your stressed eye muscles. Soak a cotton ball in a rose water solution for 2 minutes. Then, gently place the cotton ball over your eyes and gently massage your under eye area to get the circulation going. Let this rest for 15 mins. Rinse off with cool water for fresher looking under eyes.
