As Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, celebrates her 38th birthday today, we thought of doing a #tbt in honour of the one time she wore an Anita Dongre tea-length dress and, even played cricket in it.
Kate has been under the spotlight for playing far too many roles: a modern, real-life princess, philanthropist, mother of future throne bearers and an unbeatable style icon. Much like her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, her sartorial sense has always been under the fashion radar and has been lauded to dress exactly like a royal persona. It came as no surprise when she picked the Anita Dongre dress that checked all the criteria for the royal dress code.
The dress and the impact of her wearing it was so profound that for most Indian, it is perhaps the only image that comes to mind when we think of Prince William and Kate's India tour - this is regardless of the fact that she wore heels and played cricket, too. In case you're one of the few who hasn't kept a track of Kate's styles, here's a little something to jolt your memory back to place.
Anita Dongre's website rightfully crashed after these pictures came out. We are surely not surprised about that, as the designer's pieces make waves for all the right reasons. Although we can't guarantee if you'll look as comfortable as her whilst playing a game in a dress, you could give it a shot with our options here.
If your are looking for more options in breezy floral maxi dresses, check more of these Anita Dongre outfits as it is hard to choose just a few!
