Shruti Haasan – Taking over the world one note at a time

You must have adored her on innumerable magazine covers in various avatars. But one thing that does not alter is Shruti Haasan's iconic personality. Our very own Rockstar, Shruti Haasan, is a force to be reckoned with. (Check her out in the Aza Magazine) With her grunge-loving, path-breaking, rock-chic persona, there is not a creative milestone that Shruti hasn't conquered. She gives much credit for her unconventional modus vivendi to her upbringing and the fact that she is the daughter of two cinematic mavens. Let us explore her personal style and what she considers is the best representation of that in the next few minutes.

Shorter the better

With legs like hers, who wouldn't love to flaunt them in a cute short dress. The leggy lass is spotted in a lot of short numbers at casual and glamorous events alike.

Jumpsuits for the win

You can dress up or dress down in a well fitted jumpsuit- either way you are bound to look chic in every way possible. Jumpsuits make for a perfect attire for any occasion - a ruffle sleeve jumpsuit by Dolly J for a night-out with the girls or the printed number by Urvashi Joneja for a vacay in the tropics.

All Layered up

Jackets are a statement addition to seal any look - be it a casual meet-up with friends or a formal event. Jackets look elegant and serve as an extra layering for chilly weather. Shruti swears by her trusty leather jacket but is seen sporting some chic numbers over the time. Check out the uber-classy cape-style jacket by Tarun Tahiliani, or the semi-formal jacket by MsX, or the tassel jacket by Ridhi Mehra

Black is the Color

Rockstars and the color black go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly, not to mention the color is the probably the most elegant and versatile of all. No doubt, Shruti loves this shade and it is clearly visible in her looks. Be it a short leather number by Siddartha Tytler or a semi-ethnic look by Papa don't preach or the high slit dress by Shivan and Narresh.

Prints Galore

Our love for prints is as old as time. And Shruti seems to love them too. Prints come in all shapes, sizes and styles, like the anarkali by Nikasha or the lehenga by Nikhil Thampi or the three-piece by Anamika Khanna. Something for everyone.

Sari, not sorry....

Even the most modern of women cannot say no to this classic drape. A sari is the safest and poshest way to slay your way through any occasion. You can opt for a silk sari by Punit Balana, or keep it breezy in an Anavila sari or go for a regal look in a chanderi silk sari by Sailesh Singhania. Finish you look with an up do bun just Shruti to channel your inner bharatiya naari!
