Can anyone do ethnic fashion better than Ritu Kumar? That's what I thought, too, and I can say this with assertion because, a) The industry laps up everything she makes, and b) my mom is aware of her. If someone as non-fashion savvy as my mother knows about a designer, then, trust me, they're famous. Lucky for me, some of our favourite Bollywood celebrities and I share this sentiment for Ritu Kumar.
They've sported the designer's boho-chic creations on one too many occasions, leading to a few 'I-want-this-in-my-wardrobe' greedy pangs. Let's take a look and go on a wishlist-ing spree!
Tamannah Bhatia in a Silk Saree

Let's face it; before this contemporary fashion trend washed over our generation, a red embroidered saree was the 'It' wedding outfit. For those who still think of a saree as a wedding-worthy item, there's this one as seen on Tamannah. Pair it with kundan jewellery and we're good to go.
Tara Sutaria in a Printed Dress

This printed asymmetrical dress worn by Tara Sutaria for her movie, Marjaawaan's promotions is the best fit for party outings. A dash of some orange colour on black ethnic-tribal prints with wrap-style hem surely demands all the attention.
Shruti Haasan in a Net Saree

Shruti Haasan, a bonafide bundle of talent, has no dearth of oomph when it comes to dressing. She can pull off sarees just as well as her biker leather jackets. We are loving this embellished net saree on her, that she has paired with shoulder-grazing earrings and a simple ring.
Sania Mirza in a Printed Kurta

Sania Mirza deserves a special mention for sporting this beautiful mandala-printed kurta. I love how she has kept the accessories simple with a thread-style waist-belt, statement earrings, and her wedding ring. This is definitely one of the best Ritu Kumar looks so far.
Malavika Mohanan in a Silk Saree

The ethereal Malavika Mohanan looks radiant in this lime-green embroidered saree. To top it off, the gold-pearl necklace and bracelets complete the all-traditional look. This look makes me want to wear sarees, correction, Ritu Kumar sarees, all day long.

Try visualizing a white one-shoulder floral jumpsuit. Now try it with Ritu Kumar's aesthetics. Need we say more? Kudos to Mrunal Thakur on getting the look right with bare make-up and almost-there accessories.
Dia Mirza in a Black Printed Skirt

Diz Mirza's style is synonymous with Ritu Kumar's design aesthetics- extremely chic. We wonder how both of them get it right every time. For instance, this crepe baroque printed skirt-set paired with the oxidized silver choker is simply a sight for sore eyes.
Athiya Shetty in a Kurta-Set

Simple and demure, this red kurta-set paired with statement gold jhumkas enhances Athiya's tall frame. I just can't get over how understated and chic this look can get. I would definitely love me some red and gold juttis to complete the look.
Kangana Ranaut in a Kurta-Gharara Set

The world is aware of Kangana's soft corner for ethnic wear (remember her airport looks with sarees and palazzo sets?), so we think she aced this kurta-gharara look at a family wedding just as well. Notice the fresh, glowy skin, and that gold tired necklace? Super chic.
Madhuri Dixit in a Silk Saree

Madhuri Dixit- a timeless beauty, has been Ritu Kumar's muse for a long time. Madhuri's classic elegance is enhanced with this champagne-coloured embroidered saree. A dash of a bold red-lip is the only shot of colour, and it still is the best looks ever.
Kajol in a Silk Saree

Ever since we saw Kajol's transformation in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, from a tomboy to a demure woman who now wears sarees, we were hooked. Since then, we have been crushing over her saree looks a tad too much. Hence it's not an exaggeration when we state that this Kajol-Ritu Kumar duo look is one of our favourite looks ever.
Taapsee Pannu in a Kurta-Dress

Taapsee Pannu's effervescent vibe is best represented by this red kurta-dress with a gorgeous flare. I adore the way she has styled it with kundan-pearl chaandbalis for an indo-western look. This is definitely my pick for my best friend's mehendi ceremony.

Need inspiration to wear deep colours to a wedding? Take cues from Vidya Balan who beautifully wore this red and black kalidar anarkali set to one of the events. She took resort to this black and gold tassel clutch meant for your bare essentials and chandbaalis.

The picturesque Nushrat wore this prune and beige coloured lehenga set featuring floral zardozi work with tiered kundan necklace and gold bracelets. We can see glass bangles are making a come-back, starting from this look.
