Revisiting All of Deepika’s Chic Earrings Spotted in Cannes

The last Sunday of what would have otherwise been a fashionable May, thanks to the Met Gala and Cannes, has left us wondering about the future of fashion.  How much longer before we see our favourite sartorialists take the red carpet and make it their own by way of ethereal clothes and even more breathtaking jewelry? How much more elusive will the world of by-invitation-only events become? And finally, when will we be able to recreate the looks we've fervently 'pinned' or 'saved'?

While there's no answer to our questions, yet, there's some respite in the fact that we can still revisit old looks of our favourite celebs we've seen and come to love through the years. One such celeb who has left a rather fashionable impression on all of us with her chic red carpet choices is Deepika Padukone. And today, thanks to this flood of nostalgia, we are taking a deeper look at the tiny bijoux which made a world of a difference to her looks - her earrings.

Below are looks where the actor made an impact with no more accessories than a pair of beautiful earrings. Take notes!

Drop earrings

The most underrated pieces in your jewelry collection, these simple drop earrings were, perhaps, the most important elements of what made Deepika's  Zuhair Murad gown (left) and the avant-garde Ashi Studio dress (right) such stellar looks! We loved the fact that Shaleena Nathani - Deepika's sartorial rainmaker - went with emerald earrings to colour block with her fuschia dress. Both looks are proof that whether you choose a romantic blowout or punk-ish updo, drop earrings are all you need to tie everything together.

Shoulder-grazing danglers

Deepika wearing Varnika Arora

The woman of today has a lot of fusion and formal outfits. What better choice than chic danglers to accentuate those silhouettes? Deepika's striped Loewe pantsuit paired with these contemporary danglers by Varnika Arora are just the inspiration you need.  Doesn't it just amp up the whole look? You can opt for similar shoulder-grazing danglers in stones, beads, or metal depending on your outfit.

Crystal hoops

These earrings managed to stand out despite the fact that this look was chock-full of stunning elements. The dramatic eyes, the hair, the leather scrunchie, the gothic high ponytail, or that Peter Dundas monochrome dress itself. These earrings - the cooler sibling of your simple hoops - is the understated accroutrement which is the missing link between you and your exaggerated outfit.

Oversized gold hoops

Deepika wearing Misho Designs

We still can't get over how stunning Deepika looked in this molten gold Alberta Ferretti ensemble. The makeup, red lip, and of course the oversized gold hoops by Misho Designs were the cherry on the cake. Notice how they are not the usual round ones? We need some detailing to the gold 'ol pieces. Check out your options below.

Quirky retro earrings

Undoubtedly one of her best Cannes looks so far, this Philosophy maxi dress stunned everyone. Going for a fun, retro look, her stylist paired this pink and black geometric dress with a peppy heart-shaped earring set. The bold wing-liner and the high-pony too stole our hearts. Wear your quirky jewellery with as much oomph as Deepika with these options below.

Crystal semi-cuff earrings

Deepika wearing GRISOGONO

The glamorous Brandon Maxwell gown with a thigh-high slit left everyone wanting for more. Deepika floored us with the look, that was equal parts sexy and elegant. She paired her outfit with crystal semi-cuff earrings by Grisogono and gave us a tip or two about a cocktail party dressing. The earring style covers half of your ear lobe, thus making it a very contemporary and chic option for a party.
