Welcome to our segment Quarantine Throwbacks, where we dish the deets on our favourite celebrity looks throughout the years - because, let's face it, even the mainstays on our best-dressed list are at home in their most comfy pair of pyjamas! Our Quarantine Throwback segment has seen some truly iconic looks of actors from the slightly older age camp, so, we thought, why not add a dash of some fresh perspective for a change of scenery? And who better than Ananya Panday to do that, right? The look that we'd like to decode today is one of her best ones (yet), and is a pink Amit Aggarwal lehenga that she wore last year. The designer is a pioneer in creating pieces that are the perfect amalgamation of high-end luxury with sustainability. His highly structured pieces look no less than a work of wearable architecture and we love how they're often dipped in metallic colours, which are, of course, a creative outcome of recycled materials. While that may add to our ever-growing penchant for his design aesthetics, his muses, too, love his collections. Exhibit A, Ananya Panday, who is an Amit Aggarwal-constant, first wore this chic pastel pink lehenga with a sleeveless embroidered blouse back in May '19. The chevron pattern in the form of embellishments is the sartorial high-point of the look. The flare, too, is immensely covetable (sangeet-appropriate too, maybe?) If you are an ardent fan of the hue like Ananya who, quote, "I like pink. A lot. Clearly. Ok bye #LenGeet", then this embellished outfit should be your pick for a summer wedding. Since she's new to Bollywood, she got the minimal-look memo early and went sans jewellery. While it may not the best bet for a wedding look, we love how she kept her hair and makeup fuss-free and let the outfit get the due attention. Later in the same year, Ananya wore a lime green Amit Aggarwal lehenga again for a Diwali party and basically dished a lesson on the quickest-ever style revolution. We love how she swapped the demure pastel with the show-stopping neon. The classic choli, too, was succeeded by a one-shoulder style and a barely-there dupatta that took away the need to wear any jewellery. The pin-straight hair was also replaced by blowout curls and a dainty statement maangtikka found it's rightful position amid the hairdo. What are the odds of a transition like that happening in the same year? We think it's all Ananya Panday and of course, Ami Patel. Found this article interesting? Let us know in the comments below.
