#Quarantinethrowbacks – Anushka Sharma in Gaurav Gupta from 2016

Welcome to our segment Quarantine Throwbacks, where we dish the deets on our favourite celebrity looks throughout the years - because, let's face it, even the mainstays on our best-dressed list are at home in their most comfy pair of pyjamas! In today's segment of #quarantinethrowbacks, we are taking notes from Anushka Sharma's style. This time, its her black Gaurav Gupta outfit which the actor wore to the Sardust Awards in 2016 that has made it to our coveted list of iconic looks.

Although it took a while for the actor to zero in and find her sartorial standpoint, once she did, there was no looking back. Anushka was quick to learn that OTT looks don't work for her and adopted a rather minimal and sophisticated approach to red carpet dressing. Which is one of the main reasons why these Gaurav Gupta separates - sleek cigarette pants (which were all the rage in mid-2010s) and bodice with a high-low hem - are our favourite. The overall look is equal parts strong and simple, and totally work in the favour of accentuating her structure. We love how she's played around with the slicked-back hair and resorted to the no makeup, makeup look with dewy skin and nude lipstick. The towering open-toed pumps also add to the overall strong look which we love. One of the very few women who doesn't shy away from experiemting with androgynous fashion, Anushka made an outfit in separates yet again, this time in 2019 and took her love for strong, masculine outfits up a notch by making an appearance in a plaid Gucci suit.  3 years may not look like much in the grand scheme of things, but from the point of view of Anushka's wardrobe, they've made her a mainstay on our list of best-dressed women of Bollywood.
