Fun, Memorable & Above All – Presenting Glamorous Bride in Aza Magazine

THE MEET-CUTE

“Our families arranged for us to meet. We lived on opposite coasts in the US – I was living in NYC and Puru is from LA. We met in Washington DC for the first time, by the piers at sunset. It was his favourite spot in the city. Looking back, it was such a blissful day in how comfortable we were from get go. I originally only planned to meet him for a day, but we ended up spending four days exploring DC together.”

THE REALIZATION THAT HE’S THE ONE

“After a few months, I was sure I can spend my life with this guy. After that first meet, he flew all the way to NYC to meet up. I liked that he was not taking himself too seriously and was trying to enjoy spending time with me. We were not bound by the marriage looming over us but just explored each other organically. He even wrote me a sweet poem to convey his feelings. It is a cliché, but I did realize time passed faster when he was around, that’s how I knew phas gayi mein!”

MOST CHERISHED WEDDING MOMENT

“Though every memory with Puru is special, if I have to mention only one, I would choose ‘the proposal.’ He proposed to me in front of the beautiful Pacific Ocean in California and it was so adorable because I wasn’t expecting it at all.”

THE BRIDAL WARDROBE

“For the Mehendi, I chose to wear a Nitika Gujral outfit from Aza – the ivory lehenga with multi-colour designs was apt for the Mehendi function. The dupatta had these cute pompoms. I wore silver jewellery with it, which I bought from Tribe Amrapali. For the sangeet, I decided on an Anita Dongre outfit. I wanted to wear traditional for all of the wedding functions, so I wore a beautiful Benarasi lehenga with stunning raw diamond (polki) jewellery that I bought from Anand Jewels, Indore. For the after-party, I wore a crop top and skirt from Amrit Dawani. I am a Rajput. So, for the wedding and the reception in Jaipur, I chose to wear a Rajputi Poshak with authentic Rajputi jewellery. There’s one more lehenga (by Payal Keyal) that I bought for another reception, which can happen in Madhya Pradesh.”

THE AZA EXPERIENCE

“I went to the Defence Colony Aza store in New Delhi and my experience there was so good. Sana helped me choose my Mehendi lehenga. I felt the lehenga collection in the store was exceptional. I bought that Nitika Gujral lehenga a few days before of my wedding, but I still I got it on time.”
