As arbitrators of style around here, we usually have our hands full with a bevy of collections that make their way from the runway and directly on to our website. And although it’s almost always difficult to love only one collection so much that we start swearing by it on social media and name-dropping the creative genii behind them, well, practically everywhere – there’s one that’s become an immediate darling of our summer wardrobe. We’re talking about designers Pankaj & Nidhi’s SS19 collection.
You’re probably wondering why we’re waxing poetic about it – after all, there’s nothing avant-garde about it. They don’t even come with working girl shoulder pads or scarf prints (oh! Especially the scarf prints) which were two fashion week mainstays this season. These outfits are, in fact, just simple clothes with A-line silhouettes in shades of cornflower blue, pinks, and ivory with floral prints, and whose job description doesn’t include imparting its wearer with a feeling of empowerment, just lasting satisfaction.
We really wish there were oddball notions attached to them that made these clothes worthy of a 300-words blogpost - some glaringly predominant colour scheme jolting us by way of the retina, or extraneous distractions, at least. Heck, they’re even available in all sizes. So you won’t even feel so summer body conscious and hit the gym with an end goal of trying to fit in them.
But, until the designer duo comes up with something that does a number on us, let’s enjoy this collection of pragmatic, comfortably chic clothes which reminds us of simpler times - because those were truly special.
P.S.: You might want to get your hands on these before we run out of them. Shop them here!
