Raise your hand if you're a beauty junkie. Yes, we get you. We know how hard it has been dealing with this whole lockdown situation. The only up-side to this? At least quarantine has got us catching up on our beauty sleep, cleaning our makeup brushes and beauty sponges, and diligently following our skincare regimen. And while going barefaced is a promising idea for a great post-quarantine skin, completely abstaining from makeup in the lockdown seems a bit too harsh, right?
We all have our own way of coping with this lockdown and its completely okay if makeup is yours. Also, let's not forget that those WFH video calls are not seeming to die down anytime soon, too. And looking nice while working can also add a bit of cheerio to our days which honestly feel the same now. While you don't need to go all out with your whole foundation, highlighter, concealer, contouring madness you can still go minimalistic glam with your makeup in the lockdown. Here's how!
Sunscreen
If you are one of those restless souls who love to peep out of their windows or tend to sit near the window while working you are exposing yourself to the sun. A multi-tasking sunscreen is an essential makeup item in this lockdown. It will ensure that you are well protected against all of that in addition to the UV rays of your electronic devices like mobile phones, laptops, and TV. too. Another cool thing that you can do with your sunscreen is you can use the tinted variant to get that foundation effect without actually using the foundation. Bet you didn't know that!
Strobing Cream
As hard as makeup in the lockdown without the highlighter seems you can still add some dewy glow to your sunscreen base with a strobing cream. The strobing cream is lightweight on the skin and doesn't clog the pores. Although it won't get you the same angular effect as a highlighter it will definitely give you brighter and radiant-looking skin.
Lip Balm
Are you wearing your matte lipstick at home? Don't feel caught in the act because we are, too! But the important thing to keep in mind is that matte lipsticks can be very very drying on your lips leaving them chapped and cracked. And imagine the horror of your cracks showing up after your matte lipstick has completely dried out. Eeks! Moisturizing your lips with a lip balm will not only protect your lips but also ensure that your matte lipstick stays smooth when applied.
Kajal
Kajal has been our BFF since college days and continues to be one even in this lockdown. It is probably one of those few makeup items that most of us have bought too. Keep it on if you like but don't go smokey day-time glam or create smoldering eyes with it. Because once you start then bringing out eyeshadow palettes, primer, foundation and concealers are inevitable and even you know it.
Eyebrow Pencil
The eyebrow pencil is perhaps one of the most prized possessions in our vanity bag. It adds fullness and definition to thin or unruly brows. Full brows shape your face beautifully, highlight your eyes and play a defining role in your makeup. With a good brow game, you won't even miss defining your eyes with the eyeshadow so much.
