A grand decade of India Couture Week!
With an aim of celebrating the cultural diversity of all the Indian designers in the country, FDCI presents India Couture Week to you all every year with collections that strikes a chord and leaves you in awe of every piece. This year being the 10th year of ICW, the collections, inspirations and formats ought to be grand and we at Aza are crushing on every piece made for its sheer elegance!
Anamika Khanna: A grand show through installations, Anamika Khanna presented a stunning collection of romantic silhouettes. These were made in soothing pastels to slowly transferring in vibrant hues. Each piece was jaded with antique zardozi and thread work.
Rohit Bal: Rohit Bal’s ‘Khush Posh’ collection embraced the Mughal culture like none other. Rich designs, swaroski-studded pieces and ones that are luxury yet wearable. With the dapper dude Arjun Rampal closing for Rohit Bal, everything about this show was fab!
Rahul Mishra: With ‘Parizaad’, Rahul Mishra added heaps to India Couture Week this year. The collection spells elegance while the colour palette steals your heart, one outfit after another. Don’t believe us? Well, here it is!
Anju Modi: She calls her collection ‘Sunehri Kothi’ and we couldn’t agree more. Drawing inspiration from the royal heritage of 16th century Rajasthan, the collection holds ancient thread work detailing, zardozi and fine detailing. The two-toned colour combination beautifully embraces the intricate work and we’re impressed! P.S. Dia Mirza played muse and an inspiration for all the to-be brides of 2017!
Varun Bahl: Known for the gorgeous floral appliques, Varun Bahl’s collection inspired by 'Alphonse Mucha' is a blend of vintage and modern contemporary elements. Owing to a diverse colour story, each ensemble weaved a unique story waiting to be read!
Anita Dongre: Traditional with a modernized twist, Anita Dongre’s 'Tree Of Life', combined traditional weaves and exquisite embroideries with silhouettes influenced by new-age styles and patterns for both brides and grooms. Every outfit in a vibrant shade teamed with jewellery from pink city were like a match made in heaven!
Gaurav Gupta: He is known to marry drama and glamour in the most beautiful setting. Each piece dominated with muted tones, lace, crepes, tulles and beads; it all stood out making statements and stealing our heart! Who isn't a fan of dreamy silhouettes and styles afterall.
Manish Malhotra: A magnificent setup, outfits to admire and just the name you’re waiting to hear – Manish Malhotra. Adding a royal touch, every outfit that was a part of 'The Sensual Affair' was accompanied by a luxurious trail and embellished with studded beads and embroideries. And with Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh gracing the ramp with their presence, this show was worth the wait!
