After decades of watching male bonding being celebrated on-screen, Four More Shots Please! breathes new life in female friendships. Revolving around the lives of four fabulous and free-spirited women in Mumbai, the show is sassy, has a lot of verve, and speaks to the modern-day millennial woman. The instances depicted around female friendships are so real that it will make you take a trip down the memory lane with your girl squad. While the plot lines and stark story-telling will make you want to continue binge-watching, what also makes the show very watchable is its humour and sartorial luxe at its best.
Not only does the series stylist Aastha Sharma use fashion as a tool to define the character's quirks and bring out their personalities, she also gives us a lot of high fashion moments in the process which we want to emulate in our real life. And season 2, which features a lot of picturesque scenes and locations in Istanbul and Udaipur, makes you travel vicariously with the characters while giving every fashionista lots of cues on how to keep their style game strong when attending a destination wedding. You will be left majorly crushing on a lot of jumpsuits, lehengas, sarees, and designer dresses that are already our goals for post-lockdown wardrobe.
Here are some of our favourite fashion moments from season 2 of four more shots please.
Bani J in Gold Gown By Amit Aggarwal
Bani's character, Umang, who is a personal trainer, is seen primarily in stylish atheisure throughout the season 2 of Four More Shots Please!. So, for the sangeet sequence, we were pleasantly surprised by seeing Umang's feminine side and that too in an Amit Aggarwal outfit. The gold gown has a beautifully textured design (classic Amit Aggarwal) with a structured silhouette and is cinched at the waist with a metallic belt. Brides who are looking for something stunning to wear at their sangeet bookmark this look already!
Lisa Ray In Ridhi Mehra
Lisa Ray aka the celebrity Samara Kapoor stunned in every minute of her screen space and this printed saree by Ridhi Mehra for sangeet is no exception. The ruffle saree with a belt is very modern and glamorous, perfect for every bridesmaid who wants to shake a leg in a saree during a sangeet or a cocktail. Although Lisa has stuck to styling it with traditional jewellery you can glam it up with a statement choker for a bridesmaid look.
Sayani Gupta In Nikasha
Sayani Gupta's characrter, Damini, is fierce yet feminine, strong yet so vulnerable, and so very bold - much like her outfit choices in the show. One glance at this outfit and you know that the bold colour, cut, and the boho-inspired silhouette of this outfit by Nikasha fits her personality perfectly. This outfit is surely making it to our wardrobe for the next destination wedding. Is it making it to yours, too?
Maanvi Gagroo In Astha Narang
Siddhi Piddhi stunned in the second season not just with her monologue but also with her fresh, chic and colourful dresses. Out of all her looks, this dark blue maid of honour lehenga by Astha Narang is easily one of our favourites. Inundated with sequin embellishments the lehenga is paired with a contemporary choli and has a very easy-breezy feel to it.
Shibani Dandekar In Nupur Kanoi
Destination weddings and holidays are the perfect occasions to debut the flowy silhouettes and comfortable cowl skirts like these. Shibani looked every bit stunning and elegant as she sipped wine and even raced (literally) in this beautiful one shoulder Nupur Kanoi outfit.
Shivan And Narresh
Although this was not a part of the official Four More Shots Please! series and rather a part of the photoshoot, we are not complaining. The sheer sartorial overload exuded by these beauties in custom-made swimwear by Shivan & Narresh comprising bikinis and monokinis coupled with stylish coverups is too hot to handle. If they were to be featured in a scene, we can imagine these ladies at a pool party having lots of cocktails and shots in these quirky and boho-chic swimwear outfits.
The Bride Squad In Rahul Mishra
What better way to portray that you are #TeamBride all the way than co-ordinated outfits? We are totally emulating this idea for our BFF's wedding and did you manage to spot Rahul Mishra's designs? The lehengas and the gown worn by the bride squad are in Rahul's signature style comprising of floral embroidery, grandiose textures, and new-age aesthetics. They look so enchanting and picturesque too.
Bani J and Lisa Ray In Gaurav Gupta
The second season of Four More Shots Please! also saw same-sex marriage between Umang and her girlfriend Samara Kapoor. What struck us is the wonderfully thought of all-white bridal wear by designer Gaurav Gupta and aptly put together by stylist Aastha Sharma. Bani's lehenga had a structured blouse and a lehenga with minimal embroidery whereas Lisa was more mystical with a sheet net embroidered bodysuit with a lehenga skirt. The garments were very futuristic, reminded us of the serenity that comes with the colour white, and were perfectly chosen to complement the modern-day brides.
The Pos(t)er Girls
Raise your hands if you, too, loved this iconic poster and got a little summer inspired. Sayani's asymmetrical sunny floral printed dress with a cinched bow belt at the waist is a dreamy creation perfect for the girls who like dresses with a romantic style. Even Bani's crop top with a twist paired with track pants in the bold tangerine coloured styled with textured curls is such a rebel yet fun summer look. Those who love abstract prints, aren't you already looking to buy Kirti's asymmetrical dress? Or perhaps out of them all you relate the most with Maanvi's style which is youthful, feminine, and vibrant encompassed beautifully in this bright red jumpsuit with a cute bow in the front and a thick black belt to emphasize her waist.
Sayani Gupta's Not So Basic, Basic Look
Don't know what to wear for your next Friday night after the lockdown? Try this pairing of white tank top with a metallic skirts for a hella sexy look! We love how the metallic skirt complements the basic ganji and elevates the look of the whole outfit. Team it with red stilletos and a red lipstick like Damini.
Kirti's Power Suits For The Corporate Woman
Kiti's portrayal of a single independent mother, Anjana, who is a boss-babe lawyer was brought to life with her amazing acting abilities, yes, but also by her character's styling. Her wardrobe was majorly elevated from the previous season as she becomes a partner in the law firm. We see a lot of power pant suits which are sharply tailored, well-fitted blazers in colours like royal blue and fuschia pink blouses. Although the silhouette of her clothing is structured, Anjana's love for fashion is expressed via her colourful formal wear. We can't wait to wear them to work!
Lots Of Shoe Fashion
And there's a whole lot of shoe love for the heel obsessed. The girls love their very trendy shoes in every shape and colour. Whether it is metallic footwear in green or electric blue paired with printed dresses or Carrie Bradshaw-inspired red stiletto heels worn with classic white shirt and floral skirt, colour blocking via shoes is wonderfully done throughout. These are our two favourite shoe looks from the season by footwear designers Oceedee.
