Where there are weddings, drama ensues. And when you are wedding planners, you walk through drama for character development. Yes, Made in Heaven is what all of us have been binge watching through the week, and it has been quite the viewing!
The South Delhi wedding extravagance is on display yet again with the same opulence & unrivalled decadence. Shedding light on societal issues and depicting relationships authentically, the series has set the bar high. The styling department knew what they were tasked with, and they set up the cast for success.
With costume playing an important role in driving the narrative for the series, the show is bound to be a mainstay of inspiration boards. So be it Tara Khanna’s boss lady vibe, or Bulbul Jauhari’s flamboyant inimitable style, costume designer Bhawna Sharma delivered duly.
And all the brides dressed elegantly and more importantly each bride dressed for a unique story to tell. Bollywood glam bride to the warrior princess bride, Made in Heaven’s season 2 had each bride tell a tale through their outfits.
And just each bride’s story is different, each bride needs to be decked up to tell her own story. Aza Fashions wants to help you tell your stories just as you want them to!
Here’s our breakdown of the best looks that came our way from Made in Heaven Season 2!
Amit Aggarwal
The Amit Aggarwal Flow
A throwback to Tara Khanna’s statement sarees from the first season, this Amit Aggarwal designer saree has us in awe. The structured pallu adds exquisite oomph to this metallic pre-draped saree.
Tarun Tahiliani
Tarun Tahiliani lends his mastery over the art for the show generously. Being featured through the show, the designer’s collection become a significant contributor to the show’s sartorial appeal. This champagne gold gown, with a striking structured hooded drape on Sobhita Dhulipala is poster perfect. The pairing blouse features inimitable hand embroidery & sparkling Swarovski crystal work.
Understated Banarasi Tissue Marvel
The leading lady is seen in a blush pink Tarun Tahiliani Saree, made of fine Banarasi tissue, and she is quite the sight. The sleeveless printed blouse with a plunging neckline also pairs the pear-studded belt to complete the outfit gracefully.
The Tarun Tahiliani Bride
Portraying a bride that rises through trauma, Mrunal Thakur’s Adhira’s bridal trousseau was constructed beautifully. Wearing a multicolored lehenga features a host of traditional artisanal work, replete with embroidery. A matching blouse & embellished gillet only adds to the lehenga’s charm. Mrunal is dressed in a red & white Tarun Tahiliani lehenga, she is decked up in a gold neckpiece for her rather melancholic wedding.
The Timeless Rose Saree
Reena Wadhwa looks pretty in pink, as seen here in an old rose piece Tarun Tahiliani saree in georgette mukaish. The pink saree features intricate geometric embroidery and sequin trinkets that catch the eye.
Sabyasachi
Sabyasachi Galore
The debut for the master couturier himself, Sabyasachi Mukherjee graces the screen for the premier episode. We see Sobhita donning the iconic Sabyasachi belt with a saree, offering instant inspo for saree styling. A Sabyasachi sling is exactly what completed the look for the pink (ahem - rooh afza) champagne wedding!
We see a proper Sabya bride in Zayn Khan's character, Sarina. As she defies societal norms of ‘beauty’, opting for a dusty pink Sabyasachi lehenga. The attire showcases intricate gold zardosi embroidery, a rich golden border with resham zardosi in pink, blue, and gold, and vibrant gota-patti details. This ensemble beautifully embodies empowerment and individuality, as Sarina embraces her own beauty amid societal pressures.
Ekaya
Ekaya Banarasi Lehenga Delight
A worthy addition to her sublime closet, this handwoven wine lehenga from Ekaya had Sobhita looking ethereal. The floral embroidery on the wine coloured lehenga stands out, while the organza blouse finds perfect form.
Gauri & Nainika
A Maroon Dream
Kalki Koechlin looks suave in a Gauri & Nainika micro wrap around shirt dress. The maroon dress is highlighted by the long pouf sleeves that show the convergence of two contrasting silhouettes, making for an instant classic.
Antar Agni
Solid Style Works Everytime
Arjun Mathur portrays Karan Mehra’s complex character with maximum effort, his style however is effortless. With minimal flamboyance, the actor has unremarkable style quotient. Antar Agni handles a huge chunk of the character’s muted outfits, and this white kurta is a part of the label's exquisite men’s collection.
Gaurav Gupta
Gaurav Gupta's Fierce Brides
Shibani Dandekar Akhtar’s Aditi & Sheena Khalid’s Radhika shared a queer love story for the second season, and we couldn’t be happier about this! Using the show’s influence as the platform to showcase love transcending the usual confines of heteronormative conventions.
The Gaurav Gupta clad brides looked their prisitine best. Shibani, wearing a Gaurav Gupta satin gown with an exquisitely draped cape was the warrior princess. While Sheena wore a zardozi accentuated sherwani with gold to top it all neatly. A well-done outfit pair to a story to be told necessarily, and what better than Gaurav Gupta outfits to do it in style.
Aisha Rao
Aisha Rao's Barbie Bride
We just know this one was for Barbiecore lovers! Naina Sareen is seen wearing a pink bridal Aisha Rao lehenga. The hot pink lehenga is replete with floral embroidery that comes alive during the bride’s mehendi. The contrast the blue dupatta provides is endearing and very fitting for Naina’s bride!
Torani's Powder Pink
In a poignant scene, Shobhita Dhulipala dressed for a solemn prayer meeting in a powder pink saree from Torani. The peach scalloped border were the perfect details for a look that didn’t need to be striking but rather elegant.
Four years was worth the wait! The show didn't just fill the entertainment void, but also made sure we had enough fashion moments to build our very own inspiration boards. We don't know when there will be a third season, but for now, can we have some more?
