Almost two-and-a-half weeks more to go until we complete the dreaded quarantine period, or so we think. Now, it's completely understandable to think that days seem a bit longer, even after our work-from-home situation. We think it's a blessing, in a way, as now we can save time on our commute ( metro-city residents sheepishly agreeing) and focus on things that matter.
Now that we have the time, we know that we will find ourselves binge-watching movies anyway. So, why not go back and unapologetically rewatch our favourite fashion-oriented ones for the 100th time? Ironically, here are some great lessons that we decoded from these movies, that we are going to implement during this quarantine period. Because, let's face it, fashion and movies clubbed together just makes everything better.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
Just like Naina, take this extra time to focus on your goals. We are going to maintain a diary to focus on our priorities, even when we know how hard it is to keep at it. It works regardless of whether or not you are as introverted as she, where your regular day seems no different from these current days. The Manish Malhotra looks remind us of happier times. Did you have a #flashbackfriday to her floral dresses and THE blue saree yet?
Cocktail
Like every dark cloud, even this particularly dull quarantine phase, has a silver lining - it is helping us get closer to our girls Curious how? You are just one Skype call away. Watch this movie together at your respective screens and just like Veronica and Meera, find an excuse to play dress-up with your favourite dresses and skirts only to make a call.
Aisha
The quintessential chick-flick of Bollywood taught us a thing or two about styling and grooming. Now, for a Friday night, give your fancy cocktail-worthy dresses a backseat (no option there anyway), put on some comfy pj's and opt for some self-pampering sessions. Put on that face-mask, do your hair and watch this movie.
2 States
As the pair are in their respective cities in the latter half of the movie, they are teaching us a thing or two about maintaining distance, which is extremely needed, considering social distancing doesn't necessarily mean just the crowd. The movie also gives you a lot of lessons in nailing the quintessential fusion look which is taking our fashion world by a storm. The looks, designed by Manish Malhotra, are surely a great way to experiment with our work wardrobe - once this curfew is lifted, of course. Think wearing kurtis with denim shorts and, of course, accessorising it with those must-have jhumkas.
Dil Dhadakne Do
You only miss the sun when it starts to snow. Rightly said. Everybody is on the edge of their seats for the quarantine to get over. And when that happens, (plus when it's safe enough), we are taking resort-wear inspirations from the movie and planning the much-deserved vacation. Speaking of sun, we are thinking Priyanka-approved smart separates and vibrant maxi dresses.
Confessions Of A Shopaholic
While Rebecca Bloomwood may romanticize over-usage of credit cards at a point until it declines, we are focusing our attention towards the latter half of the movie. The part where she affirms about having a clearance sale that leads to a major wardrobe declutter. Now that we have the time, we are going to do just that-Marie Kondo style. Also, the Girl-In-The-Green-Scarf teaches us the ultimate self-care tip, unapologetically choosing yourself and doing what makes you happy.

One reply on “Endure Your 21-Day Quarantine by Binge-Watching These Movies”
These quarantine days are giving us opportunities to throwback on our mechanical lives and think how we could change that in future. These days are helping me groom better. Giving time to myself, reading books, watching series and following my passion of designing. Coming out with new themes, new motifs and silhouttes ideas and more.
