Innovating Artistry: Amit Aggarwal’s Innovative Approach to Couture

Art is believed to be open to interpretation. What an artwork conveys is never a constant for its varied interpreters. What stays constant is art, and its timeless nature triumphs over the onslaught of time. Art that challenges convention immortalizes itself to become a topic of discussion for decades to come. Amit Aggarwal enforces these beliefs to create a distinct style that establishes him as a disruptor in a world full of tried & tested formulas.

A NIFT graduate, Amit Aggarwal was always a star in the making. Displaying his graduation collections across the globe's important fashion weeks and eventually working alongside India’s finest bunch of designers, including Tarun Tahiliani. Heading Morphe in 2008 with Creative Impex, he then went on to create his eponymous label ‘Amit Aggarwal’ in 2012. Fetching critical acclaim from all over and establishing himself as trailblazing young Indian designer.

For Amit Aggarwal, it is the stage that makes his creations come alive. With each movement of the fabric, how light showcases the colors, and how fluidity is about perspective. You’d believe couture takes form through fabrics of the highest possible quality. Aggarwal flips the script and creates designs through recycled plastic & synthetic polymeric blends to present pieces that would belong at an architectural exhibition.

The label puts together ethnic roots with a futuristic appeal, giving birth to apparels that are a healthy confluence of these elements. The end-product takes the shape of garments that are contemporary and ageless.

Taking bridalwear to a niche of its own, with industrial design and experimentation at the core, Amit Aggarwal is pushing the envelope. Evolution becoming a signature of his brand, the designer has always perfected on his previous steps while working towards exploring the next . With lehengas that are weaved with plastic, colors that gleam with iridescence, reinventing the time-tested saree & gowns that blend rigidity & fluidity like symphony.

When it is Amit Aggarwal, there’s always more than what meets the eye.

A Star Is Born

What better way to be the star of the show? This starburst lehenga from the designer’s Supernova collection is a flare of colors, with metallic stripes that weave into an illusory sight. The sweetheart blouse is embroidered with beads & the shoulders give room for wing-like drapes that are oh-so dreamy! This is an instant buy for the bride-to-be!

Draped Delight

Asymmetry sets the tone apart in this dance of white & ivory. The crepe fabric allows for the hem to marvel at the asymmetrical cape, while the cowl draped pants balance the volume. The cuffs on the pants, the handwoven lace placket & metallic trims add much needed detail to an uncomplicated piece that is a must for daytime festivities.

Stark Statement

This blue chiffon saree is as statement as it gets. This pre-draped saree comes with an artsy endeavor that is the pallu that is bound to stand out in any crowd. The metallic embroidered blouse with a sweetheart neckline is engulfed by the floral cutwork pallu, which is detailed with embroidery that draws attention with just a sight.

Ballroom Jazz

One can never have enough fuchsia when you have the world to light up! Keep up with Barbiecore with this mesh bandeau gown with metallic detailing that runs all over. A new age ballroom gown has found an address with this piece by Amit Aggarwal.

Metal Mystique

Colors claim to be the new black, but never become black, and this skirt-set is a testament to that thought. The metallic structured blouse opts for a plunging neckline, constructed with hand-embroidered cords that sets the stretch crepe blouse as the centerpiece. The organza skirt has a graceful fall that adds that much needed allure to this beautiful piece.

Swirly Skies

A swirly dream that takes the form of a pink sunset off the coast of Madeira, or maybe we’re thinking too much. However, one cannot overthink how beautiful the construction on this tulle onion-fuchsia gown is. The pleats are a masterclass within themselves. The free-flowing structure provides asymmetry at the hem to emphasize the swirl. Trust us, it will grow on you.
