Alia Bhatt And Ranbir Kapoor – A Minimalist Wedding Saga

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have kept their relationship under wraps for almost half a decade. While the actress announced her relationship on social media during Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's wedding where the couple was seen dressed in Sabyasachi outfits, they have barely posted pictures on social media after that. Knowing full well that both Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are extremely private when it comes to their lives, the couple did not formally announce their wedding dates. Even though there was a lot of buzz about the same in the past week across all media channels, we couldn't help but wait with bated breaths to see what the bride and the groom would look like on their big day.

Tying the knot on April 14, Alia Bhatt took to her social media to announce her wedding with Ranbir Kapoor with a sweet post and pictures that give you major wedding goals. In the presence of just family and super close friends, the couple had a two-day celebration where the festivities of their wedding ceremonies were taking place at Ranbir's home, Vastu.

Dressed in an exquisite Manish Malhotra lehenga for the mehendi ceremony, Alia Bhatt certainly broke the stereotype of wearing green or yellow for the occasion. Ranbir Kapoor color-coordinated with his lady love on the day and the ceremony was a cozy one filled with love and smiles. Alia Bhatt shared the pictures from her mehendi and sangeet ceremony on her social media and Manish Malhotra highlighted the details of the customized lehenga. On his Instagram account, Manish Malhotra wrote, “The very beautiful @aliaabhatt chose to personalize her Mehendi ensemble with a sustainable approach, where approximately 180 textiles patches come together to mark her momentous occasion, the most special one indeed. The custom touches reminisce about her journey and depict symbolic elements of her memories. Inscribed through Kashmiri and Chikankari threads, the passionate 3000-hour intricate handwork of #Mijwan women features a fuchsia pink Lehenga and a blouse embellished in real gold and silver nakshi and kora flowers, and vintage gold metal sequins from kutchh. The patches are woven together using a couture technique of cross-stitches with three tar and six tar anchors. Edged in real gold zari and appliques, this handwoven silk ensemble also carries Banarasi brocades, jacquard, bandhani, Kachha Resham knots, and some scraps from brides' earlier outfits and detailing from #ManishMalhotraArchives.”

Being the maestro of wedding looks, Sabyasachi’s work was yet again lauded by fashion enthusiasts and the designer took to his Instagram to shell out the details of the wedding look of the much-talked-about celebrity couple.

He wrote, “A Sabyasachi bride & groom. For the wedding ceremony Alia Bhatt wears a hand dyed ivory organza sari embroidered with fine tilla work and an embroidered handwoven tissue veil. Paired with Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery featuring uncut diamonds and hand strung pearls. Ranbir Kapoor wears an embroidered silk sherwani with Sabyasachi uncut diamond buttons, a silk organza safa and shawl with zari marori embroidery.
