Apart from the diverse culture and respected traditions, India is known for its rich heritage of fabrics and textiles. Every part of India has something very valuable and beautiful to offer. Interestingly, the name of each textile hub in India reflects the story of its craft or the place of its origin. Although every person living in India is classified basis the language he or she speaks, the true individuality of a person is through the way he styles himself/herself. It is an old tradition of weaving textiles beautifully all over the country especially in the rural areas of India. Chanderi: Widely known amongst the handloom cluster, chanderi holds a special place due to its centuries old weaving techniques of producing detailed textured fabrics of silk and cotton embellished with zari weaved work, and more specifically because of its saris that have been patronized by royalty.

Surface Techniques
Block printing: Used since years to create attractive fabrics, the block printing technique is rigorous yet one of the most rewarding surface techniques. Using some eye-catching elements and being stamped onto fabrics as standalone motifs, the block printed fabrics are a huge hit amongst fashion enthusiasts. Using floral and bird combinations, the fabrics are a beautiful balance of two or more elements.

Tie & dye: It is one of the widely accepted and one of the very traditional methods of printing textiles in India. According to the design and the motif, each pattern seen on the fabric holds a special significance. Tie and Dye didn’t just originate from one specific place. It was practiced in many parts of India like Kutch, Jaipur, Sindh et cetera.
