9 Kareena Kapoor Outfits From The Early 2000s That Still Slay

Kareena Kapoor Khan is a superstar in her own right. Time and again, she has proved that there is no one quite like her. While her on-screen performances have always managed to earn her the due credit, we perhaps think that Bebo has a natural flair for fashion, too. Her on-screen sartorial choices have not only single-handedly influenced Bollywood's fashion but also our wardrobe and made her a style icon to follow. From Poo in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham to Maahi Arora in Heroine, she has been all about good looks, good looks, and good looks. And a style visionary too if we may add.

Here's us reminiscing over 9 Kareena Kapoor outfits from the early 2000s that we would still wear today.

Crop Top And Pants From Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001)

Nod your head in unison if you too believe that Pooh from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham made Kareena Kapoor THE style icon of the 2000s. The oomph and sass with which she pulled off the shimmering shararas, crop top with pants and asymmetrical outfits is something we millennial's aspire to do even today. It's been 19 years since the film released but the co-ordinated separates and crop top with pants are still so relevant today.

Golden Statement Dress From Don (2006)

Kareena Kapoor sizzled as the seductress in Don in a shimmering golden midi dress with a thigh-high slit paired with a beige trench coat. Not only did she look oh-so-glam (the perfect seductress) but her on-screen aura so was enigmatic that we were only watching her in every frame. Coming to her look, Trench coat paired with the metallic dress. Are you getting the visionary bit now?

Patialia Pants From Jab we Met (2007)

Way before the Indo-fusion look became a thing Kareena had already been there and done that. Her character Geet was already a phenomenon of its own but even the Patiala salwar or dhoti pants as we like to call it became all the rage. She not only wore them with kurtas and tunics but also went completely experimental and paired them with long T-shirts and tank tops. Something we do even today on a lazy Saturday afternoon!

Black Mirror Embellished Lehenga From Tashan (2008)

Being true KKK fans we love her in every avatar but her size-zero avatar was even more glam than we expected. For the first time, she not only rocked the lime green bikini in Tashan but also wore a plethora of stylish outfits like never before. Although we'd wear her lime green bikini too we absolutely adore her black embellished mirror work lehenga with a gold choli even today. If you observe the lehenga trends of the last two years her black lehenga is something that continues to be re-invented even today by the designers.

LBD From Kambakht Ishq (2009)

We don't mean to exaggerate but every outfit worn by Bebo in this movie is relevant even today. After all, she did portray a super model rather a very sharply dressed super model on screen. It's been 11 years already since the film released but even today we are still obssessed with the bright hued maxi dresses, short dresses with strappy sleeves, metallic numbers and even the modern-day lehenga that she wore with a bikini blouse in this movie. Also, lets not forget that one shoulder LBD that practically started a trend of its own and is relevant even today!

Orange Saree From 3 Idiots (2010)

While she can pull off the glamazon with ease, 3 Idiots saw Kareena Kapoor as a girl next door. Even as a simple laid back girl with glasses and a nose ring she managed to look super chic throughout the movie. To date her orange Manish Malhotra saree from the iconic song Zoobie Doobie is still an image that we cannot get out of our heads. Do you even have to ask if it is relevant today?

Red Chiffon Saree From Ra One (2011)

Can you imagine any other actress shaking a leg to Chammak Challo? Neither can we. Not only did this red chiffon saree make sarees the new IT clothing for item numbers back then but its modern look makes it relevant even today. Its pre-draped, worn sans pallu, has a kamarbandh or a belt and don't even get us started on the red hot colour. Doesn't this sound like a modern saree that you already have in your wardrobe?

Hot Pink Gharara From Agent Vinod (2012)

Leave it to Bebo to bring back the passas and shararas back in trend. Amongst other glamorous outfits, Agent Vinod also saw her in a stunning hot pink embroidered gharara for her mujra number. Ghararas and passas sound familiar in 2020? She's not an icon without reason, guys!

Black Saree From Heroine (2013)

Kareena's 130 costumes in the movie designed by Bollywood's favourite couturier, Manish Malhotra, cost a whopping 1.5 crore alone. Once again she set trends ablaze in her short dresses and neon hued outfits (remember Halkat Jawani?). Her sheer black saree with a sash-style hot pink pallu is easily one of her best looks till date, and very wearable, too.
