If you have a #wanderlust and the quarantine is doing nothing but killing your buzz, we get you. Maybe not entirely, considering the only trips we take are towards the fridge. On a serious note, even though we have pretty much got the hang of the lockdown, a part of us still yearns for those annual summer trips. A moment of silence for those who HAD planned a vacation with an ultra-detailed itinerary pre-lockdown.
While the indefinite lockdown may have hindered our vacation plans, it will not take away our travelling spirit. So, here are 7 movies that you need to binge-watch this weekend to satisfy your travel cravings. We can call it - around the world in one day (kudos if you get it).
Dil Chahta Hai - Australia
We need no excuses to watch Dil Chahta Hai, it's a cult-classic for a reason. The trio gave us major #travelgoals and also what NOT to do while in Goa. Fast-forward towards the second half of the movie, we see the other side of Sydney, which we had not seen much of. We highly recommend you watch this movie with your friends on Netflix Party - we know you miss them - so it's a win-win.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - Spain
This movie needs no introduction. We witnessed scenic landscapes of Spain through Costa Brava, Seville and Pamplona. Remember the iconic scene with the herd of horses and picturesque landscapes? Argh, take me there now! This trio stole our hearts as well. You know what they say, a group of three is the best.
Dil Dhadakne Do - Europe
Based on a cruise, this movie is all about reconnecting with your family while on a vacation. And as far as we know, we could really use a trip like this. Cut to the scene where Ranveer and Anushka are riding a bike on the shores of Istanbul. Is that on your wish-list yet or not?
Jab Harry Met Sejal - Prague, Amsterdam, Budapest
We may have overlooked at the plot of the movie while as we were supremely busy taking notes of our next trip. We were taken away with the architectural structures and landscapes in Amsterdam, Prague and Budapest. We don't mind walking all day on the roads of Lisbon looking at graffiti walls. Do we need to say more?
Tamasha - Corsica
What happens in Corsica, stays in Corsica! The hidden border of France and Italy took our breath away with the chain of mountains which is a completely different view than we imagine France to have. We are dying to explore the little cafes and drinking water directly from the lake.
Queen - Paris
Paris - every traveller's first love, is depicted just as expected. Eiffel tower? Check. Long boulevards? Check. Delectable French cuisine? Double check. Kangana also visits Amsterdam, where we want to enjoy our hearts our at local pubs and Volendam-the fishing village, just like her.
Eat Pray Love - Italy, India, Indonesia
Travel is what they suggest when you want to find yourself. If you need a mindset change, go for it. Eat all you want, drink all you want (though responsibly) and find experiences and friends that you will cherish the rest of your life. The movie is the ultimate go-to for your travel needs, or most importantly, what to seek when you're out in the world. We are craving some Alfredo pasta and wine too, damn!
