18 Best Looks of FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week

The first joint fashion show hosted by FDCI and Lakmé Fashion Week was a breath of fresh air. There was a slight departure from making quintessential Indian silhouettes the hero this season. Designers looked toward comfort – clearly a byproduct of having spent a year in isolation wearing the softest t-shirts, the roomiest separates, and the most breathable robes – and translated it into collections that were punctuated by clean lines, easy silhouettes, and fun prints. Overall, this season, the clothes that were displayed in various phygital shows were worthy of what we had imagined we would wear after the pandemic ended and things would return to normal, albeit a new one.

There was Anamika Khanna who served us some fierce feminine looks that could be worn today and then again in 30 years from now. Speaking of the future, one cannot eschew Bloni’s collection made from recycled marine plastic waste and tie-dye techniques. There were clothes by designer Arpita Mehta, who put a fusion twist on Indian classics in her collection, Reflections. Too feminine for you? Then, there's just the right amount of boho that's juxtaposed with favourite essentials in Ritu Kumar's designs too.
