If your designs could speak, what would they say?

We are timeless. We were relevant 10 years back and still are.

What are the signature elements in your designs?

Modern, dhoti and saree drape looks are our mainstay. Our clothes are feminine, festive, delicate, and colorful with a lot of cultural references.

Which collection are you most proud of, and why?

My first ikkat print collection which catapulted me to make prints. In fact that collection got an offer to work with tory birch which I eventually didn't take up & decided to continue this label.

Which designer in the world inspires you?

All designers have a specific style and they are all splendid but I admire designers who can unlearn everything of a season and make something new for the next one. Christopher Kane has to be the one for me.
