If your designs could speak, what would they say?
If our designs could speak, they would whisper tales of heritage and artistry, echoing the rhythmic cadence of looms that have woven the stories of generations. They would tell you of hands that craft with care, weaving dreams into fabric using ancient techniques like ikat, jamdani, and ajrak. Our designs would sing songs of elegance, flowing like the river from which we draw our name, Ibai, embracing you in the timeless dance of tradition and innovation.
What are the signature elements in your designs?
Hand-Woven Fabrics: At the heart of our creations are hand-woven fabrics that showcase the impeccable skills of rural weavers. Each piece is a testament to their dedication and expertise, ensuring a unique and high-quality product. Traditional Techniques: We proudly incorporate age-old techniques such as ikat, jamdani, and ajrak. These methods are integral to our designs, adding a layer of cultural richness and authenticity that sets us apart. Unique Motifs: We design our own motifs, infusing them with contemporary aesthetics while respecting traditional art forms. This blend creates pieces that are both modern and timeless. Elegant Cuts: Our designs are characterized by their free-flowing, elegant cuts. They embody the fluidity of a river, offering a silhouette that is both sophisticated and comfortable. Timeless Appeal: Our clothing stands out with its classy, everlasting charm. Each piece is crafted to be a timeless addition to any wardrobe, transcending fleeting fashion trends.
Which collection are you most proud of, and why?
"We are immensely proud of our collection named Sukoon. This collection holds a special place in our hearts because it marked a significant milestone for Ibai Clothing. For the first time, we ventured into designing the fabric itself, along with the outfits. The woven motifs and intricate patterns in the fabric were conceptualized and created by us, reflecting our unique artistic vision. Sukoon turned out to be a truly beautiful collection, garnering widespread praise and appreciation. The positive reception affirmed our belief in the power of blending traditional techniques with our own creative flair. This collection not only showcases our design capabilities but also highlights our commitment to pushing the boundaries of textile artistry. In Sukoon, we see the perfect harmony of tradition and innovation, and it continues to inspire our future creations."
Where do you find inspiration for your designs?
At Ibai, nature is our primary muse. We draw inspiration from the world around us, whether it's the vibrant hues of flowers, the graceful silhouettes of birds, or the intricate patterns found in animal life. These elements of nature are lovingly woven into our fabrics as motifs, bringing a touch of the natural world into every piece we create. Our color palettes are also inspired by nature, reflecting the diverse and beautiful shades found in the environment. This deep connection to nature not only influences our designs aesthetically but also imbues them with a sense of serenity and timelessness. By channeling the beauty and harmony of nature, we aim to create designs that resonate with elegance and grace, mirroring the essence of the natural world.
Which designer in the world inspires you?

Share a memorable "aha" moment from your design career.
"A defining ""aha"" moment in our design career was the creation of our Sukun collection. This experience was truly transformative for us, as it was the first time we designed the fabric itself, right from the initial sketches to the final woven motifs. Starting with drawings on paper, we meticulously crafted the patterns and motifs that would become the essence of Sukun. Collaborating closely with our talented weavers, we watched our vision come to life, thread by thread. The moment we saw the completed fabrics and subsequently transformed them into elegant outfits, it was a profound realization of our creative potential. This journey, from conceptualization to the tangible beauty of the finished pieces, was incredibly exciting and motivating. It reinforced our belief in the power of collaboration and innovation, and it continues to inspire our future collections. Seeing our ideas materialize in such a beautiful and impactful way was truly an unforgettable ""aha"" moment for us."
